Reverse Engineering

Worthington Sharpe can provide a range of reverse engineering services using a range of contact or laser-based measurement systems. We can also fit surfaces and create parametric models of scanned data from external sources. For large-scale measurement problems we work closely with specialist engineers at J.W. Fair & Rea Ltd, who use a Leica Laser Tracker and precision levels for complex measurement and inspection tasks including aircraft jigs and automotive assembly lines.

Examples include creating computer models from scanned clay models, verification of jig fixtures and designing new components to fit within assemblies that don’t have drawings or Computer Aided Design (CAD) data.
